UTAH Captive Insurance News:
The Utah State Legislature just passed a bill to reduce the capitalization requirement for association captives to $500,000. (Link to Utah Legislative Process)
Effective May 2024, the Utah State Legislature has passed a bill allowing the Utah Captive Insurance Division to insure Homeowners Associations with traditional homeowners insurance.
Effective October 2024, the Utah Captive Insurance Division has procured permission from Governor Cox to allow captive insurance companies who insure medical cannabis.
Victory for Micro-Captives! Notice 2016-66 Has Been Vacated by TN Federal District Court Order - Page 16 of the Tennessee Federal District Court (Eastern District of Tennessee) vacates Notice 2016-66 “in its entirety” and orders the IRS “to return all documents and information produced pursuant to the Notice to taxpayers and material advisors.”
